I just installed XP on my new XPS m1330 and got everything to work fine. However, when I go to install the Sigmatel audio driver it says that I need to restart my computer after copying the files over/unzipping from a USB stick. When it restarts, a Sigmatel installation program starts, but then it says "This system does not support the driver you are attempting to install". I can't do anything to get it to work
Please help!!!
Thanks in advance if anyone can help

Any ideas? This is really bothering me. It worked about a week ago when I installed XP by changing the SATA config in the BIOS to ATA. But this time I created a new XP disc with the SATA drivers. Everything installed fine, but the audio drivers don't work...

Well if anyone else is experiencing this, I did figure it out. If you look in device manager, you'll see a "PCI Device" that doesn't have its driver. If you allow Windows to look for this driver it will find one for a "Microsoft UAA Bus Driver". After this is installed, you can then install the audio drivers. Yay!!!

This works on Vostro 1700 to. THANKS for the heads up. Weird that windows doesn't install the PCI device automatically. That worked though!

hi guys,
ive got the same issue as ghawk17
BUT when i try the updating the PCI Device thorugh windows update it will only give me a message saying that it cannot update.
Ive done a bit of research on the dell forums and here and it seems this all points towards the Microsoft UAA Bus Driver. I tried downloading it from the HP website but this had no effect.
If anyone has overcome this issue please help me out -
