Thinking of getting the new 'Dell Inspiron Mini' but want to know if its possible to output videos/movies (avi, etc) from it to my 32inch TV. So I can watch them on that.

Does anyone know whether its possible to do this in any way?

The specs state that it does NOT have a S-Video Output slot.

But it does have the following ports:

    USB 2.0 (3)
    Integrated 10/100 LAN (RJ45)
    15-pin VGA video connector
    Audio jacks (1-line out, 1 mic-in)
    3-in-1 Media Card Reader
    AC adapter connector

    sleepy :)

Well check on the back of your computer and see if it has a VGA port. If it does, you're all good. The only thing is, without HDMI, you won't get any sound. You'll have to get different speakers.

that's exactly what I do..... well, actually my tv has a vga port so I just use a regular monitor cable, but I use the sound cable you have shown and plug it into the headphone jack in my laptop.

now, I don't have a mini yet, but I don't see why this wouldn't work.

here's a picture of my Inspiron 9300/1705 plugged into my 62" DLP. This works great, I've watched many internet broadcasts on my tv this way, as well as dvd's and stuff. The laptop below was running media center and had an external usb tv tuner.

Nice. I use an Xbox 360 hard wired to my PC with TVersity to get the same results. Allows me to play all my XviDs. :)
