I know someone probably answered this already, but I couldn't find it searching either here or on the Dell site. Is it possible to turn off the media direct blue lights on the m1210 to save some battery life? I just don't use them all that much. thanks--

I believe there is a setting in the bios that does it. I'm just too lazy to reboot and check. :)

I was wondering the exact opposite about my e1505. I can't figure out why it doesn't light up anymore.

I'm actually looking for a way to keep them on for a longer period after pressing them, or have a setting to have them on. It'd be nice to be able to turn them on/off at will.

Set the media board lights to off in the bios. Tried it last night since I was curious. Also a way to have them light up for 3 seconds when you key press in the settings. I prefer off or on though depending on the situation.

Sorry, was quick posting from work.

    It's under LED Settings.

Well, I found it in the bios and turned them off. Only thing is, they didn't turn off! Are m1210 blue lights always on? I can't get this three second on when you push one of the buttons, and I can't get them to turn off. I can live with them on, but I just wondered if other people's m1210 have them always on.

Mine lets them turn off just fine; haven't had them on for days now.

    Are you running BIOS A04?

Turning them off really wont make a bit of difference in battery life. LED's use next to no power what so ever. I mean the 7 LED's to light up those buttons dont use more then a watt of power. Personally I wouldnt want them off, they look really cool.

can you set them to pulse to music, or just pulse at random patterns like an m1710? its gimmicky I know, but could be cool at hotel/road parties

I formatted my M1710 laptop and shoved windows xp Home back on, but now I can only set the colour lights to constantly be one colour - the option to get them to pulse, etc has gone - how can I get those options back?

(And yes, in the BIOS you can set LED colours manually)

Mine are always on when plugged in, on battery they only come on for a few seconds after you press one of them
