    How can you tell the difference between a 6-cell battery and a 9 cell battery on the inspiron 9400/e1705? Is it marked somewhere on it?

    I'm going to check out one that someone is selling, and wanted to make sure all the components he listed were the right ones.

    If you also happen to have another battery on hand (maybe a 6-cell), you could do the simple weight test. The 9-cell is heavier than the 6-cell.

    ..and cheaper too! The 53 WHr 6-cell that is. Since I travel, I stick with these. No in-flight movies with a 1705! Sticking out into the aisles, the stewardess keep tripping over it ;)

    The term "long battery" life is sort of an oxymoron for a 17" 7900/7800 equipped notebook, no?
