    Hi all.

I've never been too familiar with the Dell range, and when I was a Mac user Dell was always viewed as the devil ;)

I'm now looking at an XPS M1530 but was wondering if someone can explain to me the difference between the Inspiron, Latitude, Vostro and Precision ranges? I already know the XPS range is the gaming range (well thats the impression that I get).

I'm really just looking for the best screen I can get in a laptop, with a dedicated video card, and noticed that Latitude and Precision are available with WUXGA screens, anyone have any experience?

    Thanks,
    Ryan

Latitude, Vostro and Precision are the business lines, but are in different price categories.Inspirion is for home use.Dell xps 1530 too have WUXGA screen, but if you want a good screen, why dont you stick with Apple MBP?

Dell Australia doesn't seem to offer the WUXGA screen, and I haven't seen any reviews for this screen.

How do you separate the Latitude, Vostro and Precision? What is the difference between them?

The MBP is VERY nice, and my preferred option, but at $AU1000 more than a similarly spec'd XPS M1530, its not really cost effective...

Vostro is the "value" business line. No flash, no frills, just an affordable solid machine.

Latitude is the mainstream business notebook, a few more options and probably more suited for travel.

Precision is the powerhouse business system. Intended for high-demand work like CAD or the like.

    Inspiron is for home use.

XPS is a more flashy inspiron, intended for enthusiasts. Better gaming performance than an Inspiron of similar size, but not really a "gaming machine"

XPS Gaming is the gaming enthusiast machine.
