I'm pretty sure that the WWAN cards use miniPCI slots, but if the m1210 is ordered without a card, can one be added afterwards or does Dell not include the extra slot/antenna? I remember seeing somewhere that the x60s can't have WWAN capability added after the fact because there is 1) no antenna preparation and 2) there is no extra slot (the holes on MOBO are there but filled in). Is the Dell m1210 the same?

I would say probably you would haven't to order the m1210 with the upgrade for WWAN antenna because otherwise it's not going to be built into the laptop. I would suggest just getting a aircard to run off the PC Card slot. Performance will be better.

i belive you can. the slots and antena are there. if you look here ( http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/xpsM1210/en/SM/cards.htm#wp1009645) next to the WLAN card it shows a empty WWAN Slot with antennas

I'm pretty sure you have to have the camera in order for the antenna to be there. They bundle the two as the A/V Communications Package when you configure the laptop.
Can one add internal WWAN capability to m1210?
