I have 2 keyboards for my e1405, and wanted to know if I can swap a single key from my older keyboard and replace it with another as the key has the letter rubbing off..
Thanks!

wont knoow for sure until you try it. If the physical size is similar id try it, but once you get it off, you will have to see if the mechanism below the key and the clip points on the key itself are the same.

less than a 5 minute job. -
doh, just saw the detail that he has the exact same keyboard. Well i guess you could go either route. replacing the keyboard will take more time, but less chance of snapping off a key improperly

Just let your little brothers and sisters get a hold of it, they'll pop keys off like you've never seen. lol.

I would just replace the keyboard. Dell keys seems fragile (from my experience) and are easily broken if pulled off. (I am a bit of a monster in Brick and Morter stores and at kiosks...Shhh don't tell anyone. I could tell you which keys are easy to pull off, which ones break easy, and which ones pop on the easier.)

A couple months ago on my I6000 i popped my "I" key out cuz food got stuck under it, and when i did it, it snapped a little plastic thing and the key would not stay in place. But then i called up dell and they sent me a new one
Can keys be removed from the keyboard?
