I posted a question similar to this awhile ago. But this is really starting to bug me, lol.

I seems like everyone can OC their 8600M GT GDDR3 to crazy high clocks, and have it be stable in games. Well here is my "issue". I can OC my card to 675/900 (I could probably even go higher), and run 3dmark06 all day. Get a score of 6100 (1280x800). But if I try to game with it, my computer will hard reboot very quickly. No problem, I know that can be common. But here is the thing, I cannot even come close to my "3dmark OC" and game. I think the highest OC I can get and actually game on is 520/800.

My GPU is not overheating, max temp I have seen is 80c. I have tried various different drivers. 174.31 (Dell), 174.74, 174.93, 175.70 . All same result. My CPU is the T7250.

Oh and the only games that I have right now are TF2, and WoW.

Anyways, any insight, or possible solutions would be awesome. Thank you!

Ahhh got ya. I guess I am just trying to find out, if it is not temps that is causing the reboots, what is it?

The two most important things for O/Cing is #1 temperature and #2 voltage/power. There are also other factors too, but most likely your "problem" is power related.

Ok, well if it is power related. Is it a problem then? I mean is there something wrong with my laptop? In theory voltages between the same equipment in the same laptops should be close to the same correct?

Have any idears on how to test this? Run on battery? Take out the battery? Do a tasty little jig?

There is nothing wrong with your system. Higher speeds=users more power. You system runs fine at normal speeds and at when overclocking to a certain degree.
You're asking too much of your system.

Am I? I mean, when almost every M1530 user that I have seen can OC to crazy high clocks, and I cannot, what is different from my system then theirs?

I guess I am just used to getting really lucky with all my systems. Eh it's all good ;)
