    Can anybody recommend a hard case for the XPS 13 2015?

    I just upgraded from a Zenbook UX31A to a Dell XPS 13 9343 (2015). I carry around my laptop in a backpack that can see some bumps and rough handling, so I kept my Zenbook in a Pelican 1070CC case, which I really like, but it is way too big for the XPS 13. Unfortunately, Pelican does not make a case for the Macbook Air 11", which I think would probably fit the XPS 13, so I am at a bit of a loss. As far as I know, there is nothing out there that is comparable to the Pelican 1070, as far as durability goes, but I am hoping to find the next best thing. I am hoping for some type of hard case with a cushioned interior.

    I was looking at the Thule Gauntlet 3.0, but I am not sure that the interior dimensions are quite large enough for the XPS 13. The XPS 13 is 11.98” x 7.88” x 0.33-0.6” (W x D x H) and the Thule Gauntlet 3.0 has an internal size of 11.8” x 7.6” x 0.3” (W x D x H), so it is a toss-up as to whether the XPS 13 will squeeze in or not. Does anybody have a Thule Gauntlet 3.0 and an XPS that can chime in?

    I see there is also an offering from Pelican (1070CC) - anyone use one of these ? I'm guessing its considerably bigger than the Thule option..... anyone have comments ? Thank You

    Look for hard cases that fit the Microsoft Surface Pro 3, that are flip-open cases (like the Thule Gauntlet or the Pelican). The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has about the same dimensions as a Dell XPS 13 (9343).

    Unfortunately, this is the first time I've seen a thread on here asking for hard cases. Most people here want sleeves (leather or neoprene) for their XPS 13, because the added bulk and weight of a hard case defeats the purpose of buying a thin-and-light laptop like the XPS 13 anyway.
