    Can an inspiron 1525 motherboard fit into inspiron 1520?

    My inspiron 1520 motherboard is dead and I cant find a live one. Can I replace it with an inspiron 1525 motherboard? I guess size of both notebooks is different. Can somebody confirm if 1525 motherboard can fit into 1520?

    They are not compatible. It's a totally different chassis.

    As stated above, the 1525 motherboard will not fit, it is a completely designed chassis after the 1520. You might be better off buying another Inspiron 1520/Vostro 1500 motherboard, they aren't that expensive.

    Does it mean that Vostro 1500 motherboard can fit into 1520 model?

    Yes, the chassis is identical minus the color.

    KU926 is the PM965 for the Inspiron 1520 and WY041 is the PM965 for the Vostro 1500 (compatible). This is the motherboard without integrated graphics. If you don't have the GPU, you would have to buy it.

    WP043 is the GM965 for the Inspiron 1520/Vostro 1500 motherboard with integrated graphics.

    I've not found Vostro 1500 motherboard either so far. Is there any other option available? I've heard that XPS line is also similar to inspiron? Can you please advise if there is any other board that I can use inside inspiron 1520?

    No the XPS line uses a completely different chassis.

    Just Ebay Vostro 1500 motherboard, there are plenty on Ebay.
