Just curious if that .2" really matters like for belkin bags or others that say up to 15.4". I definitely want to get a bag for my Inspiron 15R (going to be buying at some point this fall/winter) and I want to know if you guys think I can get a sleeve and bag for it that will be okay fitting it. I figure a sleeve probably will be tight but possible to use, since the point is protection, it should be fine with those two little extra points on the size. Thanks in advance! :D

Also can you guys tell me when you think is the best time to buy? Is it the day after Thanksgiving? Or the Winter sales? I am hopefully going to get it at some point before the end of the year. :D

The 0.2" itself won't make any difference for the sleeve. But the shape of it might differ significantly.
15.4" and 15.6" are just labels for the display size. The 1st one stands for an aspect ratio of 16:10 while the 2nd is for 16:9. So a 15.6" laptop isn't simply slightly bigger but as long as or even shorter than a 15.4" laptop, but significantly wider.
Chances are good that it will fit anyway, but you shouldn't take that for granted, since besides the display different casings might play a role too.
The only way to know for sure is to compare the data sheet of the sleeve (which should contain its inner dimensions) to your laptop.

Thanks debguy! I wasn't sure if it meant there was s difference in the width too. Appreciate the info, thanks again for posting!

My 15.6" inspiron 1564 fits good in a 15.4" sleeve from eBay.
My only problem is my 9-cell battery is thicker then the regular 6-cell battery.

Thanks billabong08! I will get a 6 cell battery I think, because it will mostly be plugged in. Thanks again for posting your experience with the 15.6" lappy fitting into a 15.4" sleeve. :D
