NewEgg has a 30GB ssd for $95 that seems like it would really make the Mini-9 more appealing to me. Does anyone know if the 8 or 16GB ssd it ships with can be replaced with this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227372
Thanks!

I don't believe the SSD drive in the mini-9 is in the 2.5" format.

It won't fit. The SSDs that fit in the Mini 9 are a MiniPCIE card with a PATA interface.
I believe, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, there are currently four different SSD manufacturers that make SSDs that fit the Mini 9:.
Directly from Dell (STEC)
RunCore has a 16GB, 32GB and 64GB
Crucial has a 32GB -- not sure about a 64GB and
Super Talent has a 32GB.
Depending on what forums you read there are varying opinions as to which SSD is better or worse. -

runcore is the most common upgrade in the mini9
you should really check out mydellmini.com if you have a mini 9 or are thinking of getting one. much better information about that specific system there. -

devoted to the dell mini line of computers... plus over there you can talk about lots of things you can not here without getting your thread locked or being threatened by and admin.
plus there is no infraction point system either! oh the joys of free speech...
anyway,
IF you want advice on any dell mini, go there..
any other laptop, this place is good.
Can a Mini-9 handle this?
