Can someone with the 8600m GT GDDR3 please post their OC results so I have a decent idea of if 650 is too much for the core and if I should OC the memory in any shape or form, I rather have a safe number to start with or know I'm at a safe spot than blow my chance.

I have two 8600M GT GDDR3s in SLi and they pass 3DMark06 at 575/900. They don't artifact until ~560 but I can't get them to do all the batch tests at above 575 on the core. My laptop gets ~7800 points in '06 at 575/900 using 1280*1024 default res (my 1680*1050 laptop screen supports it).

you must note like with all oc'ing, every component will act differently. Its good to see what other people have yielded, but dont use their results to set your card immediately.

best thing to do is get yourself ATI tool, run it to find max core without artifacts, ensure it will run artifact free for at least an hour, then see how high you can get the mem to go with that core speed. again, ensure its artifact free for a lengthy period of time.

Also, do this test with your houses heating on, this will give 'worst case scenario' temperature conditions, as you want the card to be stable in all conditions, not just when you have it on the window ledge with -4C air intake!

I do the open window trick while I'm working. I'll open up the windows and do my OCing.

Ah ok, because I did a 600/1200 test with Crysis and it ran well, temps reached 76 tops and I uped the memory to 710. Is it in anyway possible to use 'high' or shaders by upping the memory?

I've had mine up to Core 600Mhz, Ram 900Mhz and it was artifact free and stable. Temperature got up to 84 degrees from memory.

I only run it at stock though as none of the games I run at the mo need the extra speed.

Wow so the memory can make such big jumps, flipmode o_O. Ok jiggy, what settings have you tried with Crysis though?
