I've been on hold for just over half an hour now to just check the status of my order.
    This is crazy.
    Can I get something?

you should already have the order number / customer number from when you purchased the machine

your order number would have been emailed to you if purchased online or given on the phone if purchased on the phone. If I were them I wouldn't give ya a thing for free. They aren't a cell phone company.

E1705 is a big laptop, don't buy it if you're serious about taking it outside your home.

Yes I've waited for 40 minutes but so what? I got "Sorry" that's all.

If my experience is not liable for any compensation, according to most people in this forum, then definitely you don't deserve one.

30-40 minutes on hold? That's all? Have you ever used customer service for anything else before? I've waited on hold for over two hours before. Yes, I was irrate, but I didn't expect compensation just because they're busy.

Why don't you try logging in to the Dell website or just your e-mail. Dell has no reason to give you anything for free.

They got them because they ordered their Notebooks in July when there was a promotion to get the backpack for free with an Inspiron order. If you didn't order one in July then you don't qualify.

Not yet, supposed to arrive the 18th, seems like forever. And i did end up getting the leather snap cover ;) The E1705 is nice, to big for me though, i had a 9300 before my current E1505 and sold it because it was to heavy and big to carry to school, but it makes a very kick ass desktop replacement.

In my experience Dell have caved quite easilly about free stuff..

They did lose my XPS but they agreed to upgrade the processor and give me a spare battery & AC adapter, and a 944 printer/scanner thing with a wireless print server gadget.. Not too bad but its been a ****ty 4-5 weeks trying to get them to do things..

I wish. If i was rich i wouldn't be buying Dell, i would have an Asus W3J ;) I sell my old laptops for around what i got them for, people on Ebay don't research much, so really between these 2 E1505's, i only lost about $100 dollars.
