Can I take my 2.5Ghz CPU out of my Inspiron 1525 and put it in my XPS M1710 ?

My mum and dads Inspiron 1525 laptop has a dual core 2.5ghz CPU in it. they just use it for surfing the web.

I have a XPS M1710 laptop with 2.16ghz dual core in it. Do you see any problems with me putting the 2.5ghz CPU in my XPS ?

EDIT: Sorry. But it seems the best CPU you can place in it is the T7600. So you can't place the 1525's CPU in your M1710.

The inspiron 1525 is santa rosa and M1710 is a different mobile platform, thus the CPU's are not compatible. Yes 2.5ghz is overkill for basic websurfing though. Also as previously said T7600G is the best avalible for the M1710 but probably not worth the upgrade from a 2.16ghz processor. If you want to upgrade anything , do the gpu - ( 7950GTX is highest avalable compatible)
