Can I return a Dell laptop without restocking fee?

From dell's website, it says that it "may" charge a 15% restocking fee for laptops.

My reason for returning is that my XPS m1330 build quality is very subpar. The left hinge has a bigger gap than the right, some of the F keys have bumps or tilted, the black plastic piece with the dell logo is loose in the middle (missing glue or something, it sticks out a bit).

All those issues are build quality related and just cosmetic, but I would like to return it without the 15% fee and probably going to get a mac or hp.

Is it possible to do so?

Yeah, no restocking fee applied and they pay for you shipping it back as long as its within the 21 days after you receive your laptop.

I am on my 18th day, so I have 3 days left to decide if I want to keep it with the cosmetics defects.

The word "may" charge a restocking fee is very misleading. How does dell determine if they want to charge you the fee or not?

If you just decide that you do not want it or change your mind-they "might" charge you.

You have problems with it and that is taken under consideration. Do not wait! They will give you the run around and try to talk you out of it. Just say no.

Do not let them exchange it. You can get a refurb on exchange and you will not have the 21 days clock reset. Get a refund on it and then reorder or select a different model.
