I want to order from Dell US but I live in the UK - has anyone had success in doing so?

I'm after an 84Whr battery slice but I note that a 9 cell is 84Whrs too - so what's the difference apart from the size?

Yes you can order from Dell US....
I ordered mine from Dell US, but I live in Honduras,
so they shipped it to a family on the States, and they shipped it here.

    :)

The battery slice sits underneath the notebook, and uses the docking connector to power the notebook.

It is hugely different, as you can use the normal 6 or 9 cell battery at the SAME TIME as the battery slice.

Dell might play hardball if you have any issues that require service during the warranty period if you are a UK resident but purchase US and then have it shipped to you privately. I do understand your desire to save money, however. Just keep in mind that there's some risk involved in that approach.

Now there's a point - I could save money. However with the shipping fees, it would probably work out the same as I'd pay in the UK. No problem about the warranty, I'd just buy another one if it went down.

I'm not oblivious to the AC power supply issue either - I'll have to look into that. It's just frustrating that there are hardly any options for accessories for an M2400 in the UK. :(

    None on eBay either.

I'm sure they dont provide issues...
Don't know about UK though, but
I got service for my laptop, and what they did... since they "could'nt help me or send anyone to anywhere without a ZIP code[we dont have zip codes here in Honduras], and because you live outside the USA we cant send anyone", i asked them to transfer the order to dell latinamerica, so they did.
I'm still under "coverage" from dell USA though...

What issue? The PSUs are all designed to run on any mains between 100V and 240V, 50/60Hz (otherwise travellers would have power problems). You would either need to change the mains plug, get an adaptor or a new power lead for the PSU.

BTW, did you phone Dell UK sales to find out if the battery slice is available? There are more options available than listed on line.
