    Hi,
I am going to receive a Dell system which includes Windows 7 Professional. Can I use this installation disc to install Windows in another Dell/non-Dell system?

I don't know if there will be any activation issues or hardware lock or something.

Yes that is true as the version of OS that comes shipped with Laptops and PCs are OEM licenses and are only meant to be used with the product they came with.

You can use the disk to install it on your other system and yes it will work. Not sure about Dell's OEM keys so not sure if it will activate on a non Dell system.

Yes. The disc is purely meant to be for the system it came for. Even though you paid money for the operating system but it is illegal to install it on any other system. Since the actual amount of the OS is far more than the OEM version. That is why the disk says it is for reinstalling the os present on your system...

You can use the Dell installation media to put an OS on another machine, but it will not be activated, and you must provide your own key (and possibly have to call up MS to get it activated).
