I'm pretty sure you can't if you didn't install the OS using the Media Direct method, but did you try sticking the CD in and finding out?

I realise that you are supposed to install mediadirect first and that MD 3 installs its own partition, the question is can I install the partition after the OS and then install MD onto it. I have a bad feeling I can't, just wondered if anyone had found a workaround.

    Yes you can.
I installed MediaDirect after the OS has been installed and it works perfectly fine. Just install like a typical application.

However, you wont be able to boot into MediaDirect without running your OS first. By installing it after you install the OS, it acts like any other typical application.

If you want to run MD from Boot, then you will need to follow the normal procedure and allow it to create its partition etc before you install the OS.
