He posted his impressions in the 1530 owners lounge earlier (something you can not yet do Lefix ;) ). You can read it there :)

I've posted in 3 or 4 threads about it. :)

But yeah, it showed up today just before lunch. I'm pretty pleased so far. You can probably get more details from some of my earlier posts. One slight negative I've not mentioned is that the touchpad is not as nice as as the one on my XPS M140. I think that one was a synaptics. The one on the M1530 seems as if it has a tendency to skip around the screen occasionally. Not a deal breaker by any means. Just something I've noticed.

I'm really happy with it so far.

Congratulations! You've received you laptop and I am glad that you are happy. Even if I had not canceled, I would probably have to have waited for another few weeks for the laptop. My laptop will be here on Saturday if UPS delivers on the weekend. It just left HODGKINS, IL. I'm pretty excited!

You're getting the Gateway, right? Post your impressions when you get it.

Yes I am getting the Gateway, but no I don't think UPS is doing deliveries on Saturday. It'll be here on Monday, and I'll post impressions even though they might be off topic. :)

Hope you are enjoying your wonderful new Dell XPS M1530 laptop. You and I know a few people who have been waiting for a month or so to kill for a laptop like that... :)

I suppose it would be off topic, but I doubt anyone would mind. I'd not start a brand new thread on the main Dell board shouting, "I GOT MY NEW GATEWAY AND ITS KICKS SOME SUCKY XPS ASS" or anything like that. But I'm sure no one will care if you share your impressions in these existing threads. I know I'd like to hear about it.

I'm enjoying playing with it so far. It's nice. But you know for me the M1530 was never the be all and end all for notebook choices. It was my first choice and I'm glad that it has worked out (so far anyway), but I could have been equally happy with a few other notebooks as well...one of which I mentioned frequently during my wait for the XPS. Lots of nice notebooks available these days.

You know, last time I ordered a Gateway system was back when Pentium IIs were state-of-the-art and Windows 98 was touted as Microsoft's best operating system (lol). I still have that cow spotted box from Gateway, and I'm hoping that none of that changed since 1998. I still want my cow-spotted box!

Its just people waiting for their laptops passing time. I had to return my laptop rental today, now Im currently sporting these specs

    SONY VAIO
    P4 2GHZ
    512mb RAM 3200
Intel 82845G Intergrated XTREME Graphics (oh yea baby)
    No AGP slot in sight.
    7 year old system.

It lags playing flash games :-( It does have Doom3, Crysis, NFS:MW, Oblivion, Madden 08, Nascar 07, and the LOTR Trillogy in HD downloaded on it though :-D

Oh sweet. Crank up everything to max in Crysis while running wPrime and let FRAPS record the result. Post it on YouTube! Man that XTREME GRAPHICS CARD WOULD KICK THE XPS's butt! lol... :)

One question though. It does have the ability to run Crysis on medium to high right?

With an OC'd card, you can get some med and some high (from what I read). Stock you can play on med. Definitely depends on the resolution though.
