I have an old Latitude CPi. I'm in the process of replacing it with a newer machine, but this one has served me well for years. I hate to just junk it, I'd like to use it for, something. The only thing from making it useable is an annoying little habit it has. Randomly, it will sort of fade to white. The whole screen goes white. It doesn't just blink white, it sort of dissolves into white. The computer itself continues to run, if you plug it into an external monitor, it's functioning fine, but you can't see anything on the screen. The only way I've found to fix it is to remove the screen and put it back in. I don't know why, but this will bring it back. Sometimes for a week, sometimes for a few hours. Then it will go white again. It doesn't happen during any one process. Sometimes while surfing, sometimes while e-mailing, sometimes while it's idle, sitting on the table. Anyone else ever have this? Is it a common problem? Is there an easy fix?

Probably no easy fix for this. I'd guess there's something wrong with the cord or there's static build-up, which explains why when ou re-seat it, it works again. If you could find the replacement parts you could try a new cord or connectors, not sure how much effort it's worth though.
