I am editing some AVCHD home videos using 1558(spec in my signature). I noticed when I do that my CPU cores rempain between 45-52C range but my GPU shoots to 64C and stays there. I am concerned about the GPU as I understand the only fan in the 1558 is on the CPU so GPU is not getting any direct cooling.
My question is if there is a way to lower GPU workload and put it on CPU for my video editing?
btw, playing some HD video my I have gotten the message that AMD video driver failed and recovered. When that happens the screen flickers and that is pretty much it. I checked my GPU temp when that happened the temp was 64C.
I am extra cautious because my 1400 died of the GPU failure (8400M GS) by getting overheated due to video editing.

Seen a few gpu mods her and there in the forum. Do a search, although my GPU hits 90 degrees when gaming. I don't' game alot but when i do i play rFactor. IT can be sustained at 90 without issues so don't worry about 64, very normal for ATi.

You should have a laptop cooler running all the time.
It makes a big difference.
