I just downloaded a PC Wizard 08 and for first few minutes it read a CPU voltage at 1.25 V and now I look at it again and it shows at 0.85 V

the question is: what default CPU voltage of a brand new Dell Inspiron 1520 has to be ? 0.85 V or 1.25 V ? and if it has to be more than 0.85 V, what i can do to change it ?

if it makes any difference I have T7500 2,2GHz processor, 2GB of RAM and 8600M GT video card

0.85 is when the cpu gets downclocked to its lowest clockspeed, and 1.25 is for when its running at its max clockspeed. That depends on the amount of load on the cpu, so that's why it varies.

it does this on purpose to be energy efficient and lower heat output. its a feature, not a problem.
