Dell Inspiron 1520
I got the notebook a few months back and I haven't downloaded anything, other than my siblings using it for myspace ect..
But upon start up, I have about 69 processes with taskmaster open.
When I leave it alone, it typically stays below 5% while hitting 0% and remaining half the time. When doing internet browsing, i'll open a page, and only while the page is loading, it'll hit up to around 35%. When it's done loading, it drops back down to about 5% (also sometimes hitting 0) while going upwards of 10%.
Example: Watching Youtube video will run on average of around 8%, though it'll sometimes hit 18% or so max.
When i'm playing an MMO. It'll hit around 50% on average.
However, I noticed something today when attempting to attach videos to an email. A process starts up called COM (on the description) and takes up 50% of CPU usage. This has also happend while watching a video from a site I clicked on Google Video. It linked me to another website. It had VERY clear hi-res picture and took up a good portion of the page. It boosted my CPU usage up to 60%. And today, while viewing a video on someone's YouTube profile, my IE Explorer hit 40% CPU usage, but it hasn't done this with other vids. When viewing videos on other people's profiles, it was around 15% Watching YouTube Videos typically has my Usage at around 10-13% on average.
However, my CPU temp averages anywhere from 33-39 (sometimes hitting 40-41) while browsing the internet with multiple pages loaded.
Just wondering if this was all perfectly normal.
As I said, while browsing, the CPU usage only hits up to 35-40% for a split second while the page is loading, then returns back below 10-15%.
I was also wondering if it were normal for my CPU usage to spike if I scroll up and down a page. When I do that, the CPU usage hits up to 50% if I do it long enough. As soon as I stop, it returns to normal.
Windows Media Player typically runs from as low as 18% to 35%, averaging around 23%.

It's normal for the CPU to become loaded when you do stuff on it, it's only if your PC is become slow and unresponsive that it is an issue.
