Anyone know what is good to use to control the CPU speeds on the new Penryns? I tried using RMClock but it didn't really work properly and now my CPU is acting weird.
On AC, the CPU would run from 1.2, 1.6, 2.0 and 2.4 Ghz.
However, on Battery, the CPU is almost always stuck at 1.6 Ghz, sometimes lowering to 1.2 Ghz. I have set the power options in Vista to have minimum 5% processor speed on both AC and Battery, and 100% max on AC, 50% max on battery.
I've tried the wipeall registry edit for RMClock but it doesn't change this. Anyone know how to reset the clocks or control them with some other program?

Hi, I had a look around for you but I found it really hard to find anything that would work. I found one called wmPower that should let you control the cpu speeds for Penryn. Here's a link with features etc http://wmpower.sourceforge.net/.

    I hope this helps :)

I tried to use Vista power management but it doesn't seem to control the throttling properly.
