This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    CPU running at full speed all the time

    Using I8KfanGUI, it says my 1400 is constantly running at 1.6GHs (1609MHz). I have Vista set to PowerSaver.

    I'm just using firefox and pidgin IM

    Get a second opinion from CPU-Z.

    It dynamically updates the CPU speed and voltage shown on the CPU tab.

    Get rmclock or notebookhardware control and have it setup to automatic management.
