I just dropped a Core 2 Duo T9400 into my Studio 1537 today. The BIOS only sees it as "Genuine Intel(R) CPU @2.53GHz." I have BIOS version A09. It has a PM45 chipset which Intel says is 100% compatible. I have reflashed the BIOS and cleared it by removing the power sources and the coin battery. Anyone know of a way to get this thing to be recognized properly? I don't think it can be used to its full potential until BIOS sees it.

If it is an Engineering Sample (ES) CPU then it might only show up as that. Intel leaves out the official model number in some of their ES CPUs. If you can get it to boot up then post a screen shot of CPU-Z. The Specifications box in that program shows exactly what information Intel has written into the CPU to identify it. If that string of info doesn't contain T9400 then the bios will never show it as a T9400. It should still work 100% correctly.

I popped in a T8100 to replace a T6400. Intel never officially supported the T8100 for PM45 (T8100 was designed to work with PM965 chipsets.) The BIOS still recognized my CPU and everything works fine.
Very interesting that the S1537 doesn't like the T9400. Can you try the T9400 in another compatible computer?
CPU not identified in Studio 1537
