So, it's a shallow question and let's face it, there are worse things you could do than get the "wrong colour for you" - but I'm interested as to what everyone's seen, had and loved.

I can't help but adore the Midnight Blue. Yep, I'm biased, but I can't help it.

    The red is also lovely.

Yeah black is the most professional. Personally I like it because the colour continues on the inside of the notebook (down the screen, and across the media buttons panel, etc) so aesthetically it's a lot more uniform/flowing.

I like the black which I have for my XPS M1330, my XPS M1710 got replaced by dell and they sent it in the red which is really nice, so I would have to say black for professional use and red for the gamer

I love the black but the matte surface is finger print magnet and not easy to clean.
I wish the black was microsatin finish. Midnight Blue microsatin finish really looks classier.

My friends` XPS 1330 is Crimson Red and it`s one the cooles colours I`ve seen on a laptop.
I would even paint my laptop red, if I`d find a decent price...

I literally only just discovered the pink XPS... where have I been? Who knows. But still.

Not sure what I think of it, though.

but then again after having my laptop for almost 5 months i think red would be a better colour as it is much brighter :) blue just seems a bit too dark for me. oh well heh

I actually wanted to get Crimson Red but they are fricken overpriced and none of the dell coupons apply to them

So i ended up paying $25 to get Midnight Blue. Much better than Black imho

My XPS M1730's comes with a black + gray carbon-fiber style exterior, and only the gray wing plates match its color scheme. It originally came with sapphire plates, but these were just too bright for me. Midnight blue plates would have probably been fine though.

I wish the color wasnt just part of the lid, and was the whole lid. I have Tuxedo black, but will be tempted to have my Grandma (Ceramics Artisan) use whatever correct primer, neon blue paint, glossy finish that is required for a long lasting paint job on all the left over laptop that isnt black

Hey Jack! The man I been looking for! Can you tell me what kind of paint, primer, any finish gloss you used, and how many coats of each? I want to go for a metallic blue on the edges.

Well, thanks to you, I put more detail into my first post on it for you and others that will read it.
I didn't do any paint removal. But if you find you need to, use 2,000 grit wet sandpaper to do it. It's slow, but won't damage your notebook. I would NOT use any kind of paint removal agents (automotive or otherwise) on a notebook as it could damage it.

Does anyone have actual images of the Flamingo Pink XPS 1530?? I have looked on You Tube and Google and I only find the manufactured photos.

I want to see if the color is the red/pink like the Inspiron 1420, or if its a more solid pink color.

Hey Jack, what do you think about being able to paint the edges of the lid, and keeping the jet black in the middle?
