    Hi,

I have a Dell 6000 laptop, and I recently installed Vista on a friend's advice. Unfortunately, after the install some problems occurred. And I don't know how to fix it and Dell isn't being very helpful. I tried to re-download the driver for the CD/DVD drive, however that didn't work.

The problems that I'm also having with this is that my keyboard or mouse is causing my text to jumble if I don't move the pointer in order to fix it and when I'm typing in an IM it likes to minimize it whereas none of this occurred before.
Then my front buttons don't really work either.

Anyway, is there anyway that I can fix this?

    Thank you.

1)Try to restore your BIOS settings.
2)If it still doesn't work, download the newest BIOS for you notebook from the Dell website.
3)If it's still not working, reformat Vista and reïnstall it. (maybe you didn't set your settings correctly while installing)
4)Look in your configuration panel in vista at hardware management (don't know what's it in English, but in Dutch it is "Apparaatbeheer". , tab Hardware and sounds) and look if there are some hardware things not displayed or if there is an error with your keyboard, mouse,...
I hope I helped you with this...
