So I have a bit of a weird problem. My dad just got his inspiron a few months ago, and it does not seem to like to burn CDS. I will put the CD in, make the playlist, and then burn the CD.

The program will say it is burning (and show me the progress of each song, and overall). However during all of this the CD drive is completely silent, and when the program says it is done nothing at all is burned to the CD. Just curious what could be potentially causing these problems? To me it seems like the CD drive is just busted in some way, but is there anything else? For what it counts I use these CDs in my thinkpad all the time to burn and there is no problems (and no I am not trying to burn again on a CD-R :p)

Thank you very much for any help.

Which program are you using to burn?
