I recently got a Dell Latitude C400 used. The previous owner stated it did not have an operating system on it, but would be ready to load a new one. When I boot up I see a quick view of the windows 98 then the screen says the following:

    IDE/ATAPI CD-ROM Device Driver Version 2.11
Error: No CD-ROM drives detected at all.
    Error: Device driver aborts loading

    Device driver not found: ‘MSCD001’
No valid CDROM device drivers selected

    C:\>

I do not have a floppy or cd rom in the laptop. I do have a docking station with a cd rom in the docking station. I have tried changing the bios to recognize the cd rom, but it has not been successful.

I have downloaded the ATAPI generic drivers. My problem is how to get them on the laptop.

I would be GREATLY appreciative for any assistance. Thank you in advance.
