Not sure what it's like in the US, but on the Dell Japan site, one of the options available is for CD/DVD software, i.e. Roxio Creator+My DVD, Roxio Creator only, or nothing. I've already got an older version of Roxio 7 that sorta, um...fell off the back of a (virtual) truck.

I get the distinct feeling that these could be bloatware items, but are they really worth it, or am I better off going w/ some other software?

    Thanks,

    HH ;)

ha, well piracy is something that the US and many other nations frown upon. But there are many, many, legal, opensource software choices. Try adding a thread to the "Software" forum.
