Hi, im hoping this is a dell prob and not just a generic set up problem,

I have an inspirion 6000i with the samsung cd writer / dvd drive.

When i come to burn a music cd using media player 10 i get an error message saying something like 'drive not configured' and it wont burn what i want.

This is not the cause when i just burn using the xp wizard for data files or when i use my creative mp3 player software.

can anyone help me with this?

Try checking your CD drive properties in WMP. In WMP, goto tools-->options-->devices. If your cd drive isn't listed, then add it. If it is listed, then click on properties. Under the Recording tab, "enable cd recording on this drive" should be checked.

If that doesn't solve your problem, then post the error code here and I'll see if i can find the solution.

easy fix (hopefully)...Some of the files that WMP uses got damaged/missing somehow, so just download and reinstall WMP over your current version.

    Hope this fixes it :)
