Unfortunately someone spilled tea on my 9300 last night. Once I got it shut down and dried up I tried booting it up and it seemed fine until I used the keyboard. The keys weren't sticky or anything but the computer was not correctly receiving what I was typing. I replaced that keyboard with an older one I had but the exact same thing happened, leading me to believe it's not the keyboard. I checked out the keyboard controller port but there was no stain or anything on it so I don't think that is the problem, I fear my laptop may have received permanent damage.

I was wondering if anyone encountered this problem and if it is repairable or if I'm screwed and need to go looking for a new computer.

Oh yeah the Inspirion is out of warranty.

Also when the keyboard problem came up I somehow accessed something called the Thermal Control Panel, and since the keyboard wasn't working right when I tried to exit it started changing settings instead, and had to turn it off from the power button. Anyone know how I can return the default settings so I don't blow up my motherboard by turning something off?

you could easily just hook up a usb keyboard if you don't plan on moving around with the 9300 much. . .

Big spills require a lot of drying time, personally I would have taken it apart and cleaned it, barring that, I would have givien it 72 hours minimum dry time. It doesnt take much in a critical area to cause big problems.
