I have a few days old Studio 1555....I recently noticed a faint "Buzzing" sound comin from the AC Adaptor(Brick)...its like the sound of electricity passing through, though you can only hear it when u put ur ear close to it...any thoughts on this??
Will I have to call dell and get it replaced??

Is the light still green on your brick (showing active power)? Is your battery still charging on your lappy? This is what started with my brick/adapter before it started failing...then the light failed on the brick, it stopped charging, and then the brick started chirping. And, yes I called Dell..they replaced the AC/Brick!

Also, have you tried unplugging it, and plugging it into another outlet? Just to see if it repeats the same effect?

If the buzzing is faint and the power brick still works normally, I'd say it's probably nothing to worry about. I don't think faint electrical noise is too uncommon these days. Nonetheless, as mentioned, if it gets louder or if the brick starts doing strange things, you should probably have Dell replace it.

Right now everthing works fine...the blue ring on the power cable lits properly...the battery charges properly...and the sound is only audible if i go really close to the brick...but the sound does come even after changing the outlet...
I guess ill wait for some time and if something strts malfunctioning ill give dell a call..

My 1537's brick also "buzzes," but it's really soft (can only hear it when it's really quiet.)
