I just bought the inspiron 1520 with only a one year warranty. The thing is that I would like to overclock the graphics card in it to reach ddr3 speeds. What i need to know is whether or not I can buy an extended warranty for the notebook after it ships and if overclocking the gpu will cause it to degrade or "fry".

you have 30 days to add CC

What is cc? Complete Care?

And there is the slight chance that they'll discover it and you'll have to face the consequences. -
It's not that I don't believe you, but I too am think of extending warranty if my laptop turns out useful .. but I'd like something to back me up when I call up. -
how is overclocking fraud?

He's right, you should overclock at your own risk. If you fry the graphics card or the motherboard, Dell is going to try to figure out why it happened. You won't just get a new one without any questions.
Extended warranty won't do you any good anyway unless you plan to overclock after one year. Complete care is what you are referring to.
