Hello, sorry if this has been asked before ( I did a search of the forum but no luck )...I live in Ireland and am travelling to the US in a few weeks. I was wondering whether it is possible to buy from the US Dell outlet and have the order shipped to my hotel. Things are almost twice the price in the Irish Dell outlet! I would like to hear anyone's experience from outside the US who might have done this before. I'm only staying for 4 days so I would most likely have to order before I to travel to the US. Thanks...

I haven't done this before, but you could call the 800 number and attempt it.

One question you should ask, though --it is possible that if you purchase the system in the US, the warranty is domestic (covered only in the US or North America). Make sure the warranty coverage is international if you buy the system here, and make sure that international warranty is listed on the invoice.

That's quite a tight time slot, but in my experience they ship out computer the day you order them if it is earlier in the day. It will most likely come from TN so you can judge which shipping service you would need to get it there in time. I also recall something about them asking if you are going to take the computer out of the country during the ordering process.

Thanks for that LoneWolf, I forgot about the warranty issue. I noticed you can pay with paypal when checking out from the outlet, so hopefully I could pay this way - though my paypal a/c is unconfirmed. I would imagine they would decline a VISA payment as my billing address won't match the address of the hotel.
@atbnet yes they do ask about export but you just have to fill in a declaration that it is for home use etc. - I've had to fill this in before when making a purchase from Dell.ie!

Interesting, you'd just have to make sure the hotel will accept the package and that the timing works out, I don't think Dell would be able to tell that it's a hotel during the order process so it wouldn't raise any flags.

Sometimes there are delays and stuff even with Dell Outlet computers. Happened to me once so just watch out.

^yeah, you don't want to end up giving the hotel a free laptop.
