Budget 1400-1900$ give or take 100 or so.
I myself own an m15x. Am very pleased with it, other then the insanely garbage build and creaky lid (Yes i got it a long time ago)

Main question is what would you suggest.
Main concerns are a good graphic card and a nice processor. Gaiming use mainly.

Are the new m15xs fixed when it comes to the lid and the build?
should I go for a dell. I know dell owns alienware now.

What do you suggest a good laptop would be, i havent really been up to date with everything lately.

If you live in the USA keep checking outlet.us.dell.com and buy him a m15x if he wants to game. Remember its 9+ pounds of system, I think you will be able to buy him something nice in your price range. I got a studio xps 16 with 720QM, 4GB, 500GB@ 7200 RPM, Full HD, 9 cell, and a 5730 for 1111.80 with shipping and taxes.

Get an i7-620M (Best IMO for gaming) with 1GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 260M best you can get on a m15x.
