I am currently in the market for a new laptop and i have decided on this:

    PROCESSOR--Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T5450 (2MB cache/1.66GHz/667Mhz FSB)
OPERATING SYSTEM--Genuine Windows Vista™ Home Premium Edition
    LCD DISPLAY--Glossy, high contrast, widescreen 17.0 inch display (1440 x 900)
MEMORY--2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz, 2 Dimm
HARD DRIVE--120G 5400RPM SATA HDD edit
GRAPHICS CARD--Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 edit
    OPTICAL DRIVE--8X CD/DVD Burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer DVD+R write capability
    WIRELESS CARD--IntelJ3945 802.11a/g Mini-card
Network Card--Integrated 10/100 Network Card and Modem
BATTERY OPTIONS--85 WHr 9-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery

My first question is do you think that $1100 canadian is a good price for this system or can i get something better.
    2) Should i opt for the 17.0 inch Wide Screen XGA+ Display or Glossy, high contrast, widescreen 17.0 inch display (1440 x 900) as they both cost the same amount.
    3) Should i keep the IntelJ3945 802.11a/g Mini-card or pay the extra $20 for the dell Wireless 1490 802.11a/g Mini-Card. What is the difference?
    4) Is the Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 good enough to run vista like windows aero as i will not be playing games on this laptop.
    5) From your experience are dell computers well made, and should i spend extra money on a warranty. I currently get 1 Year Return to Depot Service and Technical Support included in this price. So what does return to depot and technical support offer. Or should i get 3 Year Return to Depot Service and Technical Support for $150. By return to depot does this mean that i can just send the laptop in to get it fixed. And is the battery included in this warranty.

    Additional questions:
    1) Should i spend the extra $100 to get a virus scan if i will not be downloading anything. Or can i just get a free virus scan and save $100
    2) What type of router should i get, please go onto futureshop.ca or bestbuy.ca and pick one for around $100.

I will only be using this laptop for word, and web surfing.

In regards to the wireless card, I think you've confused them...asking if the upgrade to the Intel one for $25 is worth it. Some say the Intel ones is better, but it does have Linux support while the Dell doesn't. The Dell however has more options. The integrated graphics runs aero. The build quality is great, and the return to depot means mail-in service. Don't buy anti-virus software from Dell. For a Router any Linksys is great. Vista is x86.
