I need help. I'm trying to configure a laptop which has 14" 1440x900 display. Would like to get as much discounts as possible. How much is the employee discount? Is it stackable with the coupon codes found on the internet?

Also why isn't the Vostro 14" or inspiron 14" available anymore??

How is the screen on the Inspiron 13" ? I'm keen to buy the 13" but I think it'll be kinda small.

What is Dell's return policy? Just incase I dont like the laptop.

    I think the 13" only has a 1280x800 screen...

Your employee discounts depends on what you get through your employers EPP. You would want to check with your HR department or here:

If you know your EPP Member Id....enter it or, choose by your EPP Segment that applies to you:

Also why isn't the Vostro 14" or inspiron 14" available anymore??

The Inspiron 1420 is still available:

The 13" is supposed to be a nice lappy.

What is Dell's return policy? Just incase I dont like the laptop.

21 Days from the date of invoice, on returns and replacements. If a replacement is requested w/in 21 days, you get a *new* lappy. If replacement is requested after the 21 days = refurb.

    Hope that helps, some...

    Cin ;) :)

Thanks everybody for your help. I'm inclined to invest in an Inspiron 13. Heres the configuration:

Its total cost is $1368 and I applied a coupon to get a $410 discount. So the final price is around $950. Are there any more stackable coupons that I can apply?

It would be cheaper if you bought the least amount of memory and upgraded it from newegg or whatever. Just keep the dell memory for warranty purposes.

Personally for that kind of money Id get the HP tablet that I have, or an XPS 1330. But then again that's just me.

The Inspiron 13 is pretty good overall. I bought one with lower specs than what you've got. Just something to couch surf on. The screen res is only 1280x800 as mentioned above, but I've got no complaints on the way it looks.

I'm typing on it right now, and the keyboard layout does feel kind of 'strange'. I'm used to typing on a smaller 12" tablet however, so I think I just need to get used to it. The keys themselves are actually rather nice to type on.

I think that is a boss configuration. I personally would consider an XPS at that price, but I wouldn't want the Nvidia graphics-until I know the defect fiasco is over.

XPS with a similar configuration is turning out to be quite costly even with the integrated graphics. The XPS has an ultra sharp truebrite (?) option for the LCD panel. Will it be better than the Inspiron's panel?
