    Buying Dell Laptop

    Hi,

    I am planning to buy a DELL Laptop by this week thry online. Am going back to India by next week end. So I have to get it before I leave. In some of the forum they mentioned some times it may cause delay of 3 weeks also. But in DELL site they mentioned shipping by 2 to 3 days. Please suggest me when i order by online, will it come on time. I may buy Inspiron 1525 or D630. Thanks in advance.

    It takes 1-2 weeks to build and a few days to ship.

    Yea, and like vinu said, you should buy it in india if you want the warranty to be valid

    Build time and shipping is anybodies guess. Most of the time you have your system before the estimated date, but how fast depends. Once they managed to get my system to me just 1 week after I ordered. That was fast, but last time it took them a little over two weeks.

    It depends on the parts back ordered. My system took THREE weeks to build and ship out to me. I noticed another person on this forum posted his order date and he received in 8 days. Same system, but a little different hardware specs.

    They all tell me that Dell over-estimates the time frame, but don't count on it. I received mine ON TIME.. which means they said it would be delivered 3 weeks later... it did.

    About warranty, if you pay additional money for 3 years NBD warranty in US your warranty become valid internationally, also you can try that "International tag transfer" service...

    I'd buy it in India. Easier when problem arises just in case.
    Dell shipping is so unpredictable....
