I need to order a Inspiron 1700 and since today is the last day for free upgrades+300 off I don't know if I should just buy now or wait for a possible better coupon.

There is always another deal coming up soon with Dell. Configure a system you like and order it today. If something a lot better comes out tomorrow, it will take you about 3 minutes to cancel the first order via the online customer service.

If you play the waiting game, you can get trapped. Say a new deal comes out tomorrow and the system you want is $65 more. Well, then you are not going to order it, you are going to keep holding out, and the next week could be the same deal which was $65 more, and before you know it, 2 or 3 weeks can go by before you even get an order in.

Also, if you buy a system and the price drops, Dell will often credit you the difference without you needing to cancel the order.
