My 1705E should arrive on Tuesday, and I finally got around to checking out Ebay. Wow great prices! Quesion(s) is(are) what are the potential pitfalls?
Does Dell honour the warranty? I'm real curious on this one.

Wouldnt suggest Ebay if you already bought it. You dont really know the notebook's condition or real specs.

If all papers are there, then yes it would honor the warranty.

No matter what you buy on ebay, you'll have to take a risk...

Dell has some policy about selling new laptops on ebay. Only authorize dealers are allowed to do that. If the vendor isn't an authorize dealer, then there could be severe consequences. I've seen users before that have posted new systems on EBAY, and ended up having their auction pulled, and I think their account was closed. I don't know what the consequences would be if you bought from one of the unauthorize dealers.

Most of the time, dell will transfer the warranty between the two people. You must have the express code and service code.

As for which is better, I would just stick with Dell. With dell you do have the 21 day return policy if you don't like your system. On ebay, you'll be stuck with your purchase if you end up not liking it.
