    Hey,

This is the first time i am posting on this site. I am looking to buy a dell xps for school.

I dont need it till september but they have a pretty good deal going on. Do u think that the price in 4months will b any different.

Is there any new models coming out within the next 4months?

The price of XPS laptops doesn't vary that much. What happens is that they keep the same price, but continue to upgrade your options. So you continue to get the latest hardware, rather than being able to buy some $5 outdated equipment, even if that's all you needed. It's a smart strategy because you get good stuff and they get moolah.

If you don't need it until Sept, then buy it in Aug or late July. The technology may be a little faster by then, or cheaper.

Don't forget www.delluniversity.com to get a student discount once you have college ID information.

Tech always gets simultaneously faster and cheaper. Wait until the last moment to get the most bang for your buck.

Like, when they began selling the Penryns, they became "standard" choices fairly rapidly. At this point, that's practically the "base" model, whereas when they were first introduced you had to spend an extra $300 or something for them. That's what I mean. So you spend the same amount of money, but you get the latest stuff. But they remove the old hardware, so you can't subtract money and get the older processors, for example.
