I was thinking about buying an additional 9 cell battery to my XPS 1530. On the dell homepage its $299 which is alot more compared to an amazon seller http://www.amazon.com/Laptop-Batter...151D61AL6T7YU&s=generic&qid=1210443939&sr=1-2

The thing is that it says that the battery fits for both the 1530 and the 1330, do they really use the same battery?

Anyone who has bought it from Amazon and found that it works? It doesn't seem to be the "official" battery, since it's from Dekcell, but with a $180 difference, it feels like it might be worth trying.

    Any suggestions?

    thanks

I would only buy an official one. Try ebay.

Theres no risk in using an aftermarket battery, but if you would have just searched Google instead of just Amazon you will see there are official Dell 9-cell batteries for $160

The reason it is so expensive from Dell right now is because of the battery shortage. If you can hold out for another couple of months the price should go down a sizable amount.
