I just noticed that my burner has a problem burning audio CD's. After the CD is made (using Nero 7 ultra) I have noticed that parts of songs will skip. The songs themselves sound perfect on my computer but once its on a CD it skips. I have tried using different disc, brands, etc but I still have the problem. I havent had any problems burning movies, data disc, etc. All drivers have been updated and so has XP. Do I have a bad burner? Any advice ?

Well, I can think of a few things.

    1) The format you are burning in.
    2) Try using a different burning program to see if maybe it is Nero.
    3) Playback device, what device are you trying to play it back on and does it have CD-R supported?

    1) Not too sure what you mean by format (mp3, wav?).
    2) I guess I could give it a shot but Nero has always been good to me
    3) I have tried in car stereos, my own personal radio, and even other computers (all play them but skip on the same parts of the song).

The CD's I use are BRAND NEW with no scratches so I know its not the CD's.

It kind of sounds like they have copywrite protection. I know a few people that have had problems burning CD's like that and they skip, but when they burn anything else it works.

I have no clue what that could be then.

Use Dell chat, it is the easiest way.
