The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Anyone bought this feature? Is it worth it? fast, smooth? etc etc

    Wireless usb is not developed and is only just emerging, therefore people expierence lag etc.

    I ordered my M1730 with it. It seems to be as fast as wired USB 2.0, at least looking at the stats of transferring a large file from a USB hard drive that was connected to the wireless USB hub.

    As a previous poster said, there aren't that many things (yet) that support WUSB other than say the hubs. The WUSB option is really a Ultra Wide Band radio. There are other things in the works that will also work with that radio, not just USB.

    It is nice to just be able to plop my laptop down on the desk and all my external hard drives appear on the system with no connecting of cables.
