    hi,
I am in the market for a new notebook - I have seen and used a Latitude E6410 at a friend's place, but I have never touched the new XPS 14.

I am leaning towards the XPS because of the graphics card, but I'm not sure how the build quality matches up to the Latitude.

Can somebody compare them please ?

I might be wring, but I'd expect the business lines haveing a better build quality than the consumer stuff.
Additionally, spare parts are often available for longer periods than for the consumer class devices.

Define build quality? Do you want no keyboard flex, less hinge wiggle.

Yes business models do have better build quality but XPS is a high end consumer model but also business models do have parts readily for longer periods than consumer, but generally Dell has stuff for older models longer than any other manufacturer.

Im in the same boat. I am picking between an xps or e class latitude. I had a latitute c840 that lasted me all 4 years of school. They both have there draw. The xps speakers are supposed to be amazing and it has aluminum casing. The latitude comes standard with a 3 year warranty which is awesome. I cant decide!

XPS usually a bit more flashy, E-series Latitude a bit less, but more practical and longer-lasting.

Speakers on the E-series are dramatically improved over the E-series on the 14" laptops.

Every time I've compared the Dell consumer vs. business (Latitude) laptops, the business ones consistently come up as being a better value. I don't think you'll regret coming to the same conclusion as I.
