I received by Inspiron 1520 yesterday (after 5 business days which was awesome) however the 'HOME' key has broken from the keyboard. I am not sure if anyone has seen how the keys connect to the board, but it is basically impossible to get back on.

Just a quick question, is the only way to fix this to send the notebook back to Dell and get them to replace the key for me? Or will my local computer dude be able to do it?

I will ring Dell tomorrow to clarify...just interested in opinion...or whether someone has had a similar issue.

Actually I managed to fix it - raise the plastic bits on the keyboard, then just slide from the right to left - and then press - took me an hour or so to get it right... phew!

Refer to this document if you need instructions replacing a key.

If the key cannot be fixed, you can just have the keyboard replacement kit sent to you, instead of sending the entire system back to Dell.
