There seems to be something wrong with my dell inspiron 1150, it doesn't seem to detect the power thing anymore. I plug the thing in and the ON light and the Battery light flash on, then go back off, it also does that when i jiggle (i hate that word) the plug on the laptop end. I called up dell, and they said the laptop was "Lost and/or Stolen", (I got it on eBay a while ago in new condition), and they said they cant do anything because of that. I brought it over to Geek Squad, and they said they don't do dells.
I think it has to do with the internal power supply, and I also heard once that goes on a laptop, the whole thing is toast.
Is there anything I can do?

Well, how old is it? I saw your other post on buying a new one. Maybe it's just that time, to buy a new one. The Geek Squad where I live fixed dell's, they had like 3 setting there fixing them lol. O well. Good Luck!

It wont charge, or run on A/C power, other than that it works perfectly, except for the crappy graphics card.
It has about 10 minutes left of battery (7%) last time I checked.

Try plugging the cord in a different outlet.
    Check the cord for damage.
If possible reformat the machine?I hope that works, it must be fustrating. Good luck!

Assuming you got the right one for that model when you bought it, it sure sounds like you have a bad connection, from the Dell power adapter to the wall outlet, or to the recepticle on the notebook. Does the light on the adapter brick stay on when it's plugged in?

There is three possibilties. Your AC adapter is broke, the connector is broke or loose, or there is something wrong with the motherboard. There has got to be a computer shop around you that can diagnose it. If it is the motherboard, you are probably better off getting a new notebook. Could try re-seating the memory and hard drive.

I have tried using another power supply from another dell, and tried a different outlet, nothing.

I agree with Zazonz. You really should try to find a repair shop near you to have it diagnosed. You could spend hundreds of dollars trying to figure out the problem, and might never fix it. It will probably have to be a local repair shop, but from the experience I had, they are very knowledgeable. I would at least call around and see if you can get an estimate.
